The Children's Law Center of Connecticut offers internships to both undergraduate
and law students during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
- CLC accepts interns from law schools, paralegal programs, mental health programs, and undergraduate colleges and universities.
- Interns will get an opportunity to shadow attorneys in court, perform intakes for our legal hotline, provide case management support, interview clients, assist in preparing court documents, and observe mediations.
- If the student meets the requirements to become a certified legal intern, the student will be given the opportunity to serve as a Guardian ad litem to represent a client in court.
- In order to ensure that each intern gets the most out of their time with us, we gear each student's internship towards their desired career paths. To help accomplish this goal, we provide ongoing training and monthly mentoring meetings, as well as encourage students to work with multiple attorneys on staff so that they can have a range of different experiences.
